Start of something

You know they say you hit rock bottom before you come back up? Well, I have to ask, how many freakin' times do I have to bounce back from rock bottom before I finally stay up.

I have been on this journey now for over two years, yes, that's right TWO YEARS! If you're wondering that's 728 days. 17,472 hours. 1,048,320 minutes and 62,899,200 seconds. (Just keep adding to those seconds why don't ya?) Looking at it from that point of view, that's a lot of time out of life.  While I've had so many downs during those times, I have also had a lot of ups!

As the winter is coming to a close I think cabin fever is starting to come into play. I haven't been able to run outside, I've been stuck in a stinky gym among strangers who won't B.S. with me and I also haven't had a lot of the companionship that I had for the first full year, and man do I miss that! Not only that but my weight has been pretty still for the past year. I've gone up and down, up and down, up and down. A real mind game! With all these factors, I hit bottom yesterday...AGAIN! I'm getting really damn tired of it, I'm not gonna lie to you!

After crying to my bootcamp instructor (literally), after crying to my mom, and of course crying to Colin at night I went to bed not minding if the sun came up the next day. Well, you know good ol' mother Earth, she brought that sun up again!! Not only is she bringing the sun up each day, she's making it come up earlier, and go to bed later!  The weather is starting to get nice and the birds are back out chirping!

Now, if that's not a metaphor for life, I don't know what is! The dark times are going to get less, the up bright times will be longer. The pounds, like the snow, will start melting soon, until then, a little bit more will gain, but it will go down.  The birds are singing a song for the soul, upbeat and a tune of hope. (yeah, that's cheesy, but go ahead and use it!)

Pretty much, what I'm getting at is Spring is around the corner.  Spring brings new life back to this state of ours. I will take advantage of it and I'll put a spring back in my step and attitude (Oo, bam, I'm full of them tonight!) and I won't give up on my goal.

Still wrapped around my wrist is the bracelet my mum gave me and it says "fall seven times, stand up eight." Well, number 8, here we go again!!
